The May 2022 Instagram update is in one word Bad!

While we all were busy scrolling down the feed on Instagram, we could very well understand the difference between a Reel and a normal image post. But the latest 2022 May update literally made it impossible to read the captions and the content on static posts properly.

Really! Who does that. If I would like to watch a video, I would watch a video, not an image which looks like a story on my feed that pretends to be a video.

Thankfully, Instagram brought back the old chronological feed and we are happy again! Developers / designers at Instagram must understand that a small change they make on the platform affects millions of people around the world and businesses associated with them. Brands complained about cropping out brand logos due to text captions and this continued.

Maintenance is a continuous process and we acknowledge that. But surprises that have come our way with Meta business and changes in UI across Meta platforms like Instagram are nothing more than shocks, at times.

Still, we all like to scroll down and down and stick to our screens in curiousity. It keeps flowing.
